British riders in the Classics

What a season it has been for British road cycling! Not only did Geraint Thomas win E3 last weekend, but he managed to mix it up in the most extreme conditions we've seen all season to take a podium at Gent-Wevelgem yesterday too. Congratulations to Luca 'the Lumberjack' Paolini for taking the win, proof that, by his own admission, you don't have to be the strongest rider to win.

Let's not forget the awesome display by Luke Rowe a few weeks back in Milan-San Remo, his turn on the front of a three-man, all-Sky break was almost enough to put Geraint Thomas and Ben Swift in for a win. An awesome rider and a lovely man – check out my interview with him here.

I'm really excited by this new crop of British riders and I don't think we've got long to wait until Team Sky finally breaks its Monument duck. That being said, Bradley Wiggins isn't showing much form for Roubaix.
